Editing included normal cropping, adjusting (not sharpening using clarity and texture instead) then going to Silver Efex and some red filter, high structure harsh and post vignette dark.

Karl, good image for monochrome, as the red and green of the driver's helmets are a distraction from what you want to portray. Cars are well placed in the frame and the leading lines of the track lead the eye to the almost-shredded tires (did the leading car lose his right front tire later in the lap?). The rear car does fade somewhat into the background in the monochrome image...but that's okay since we're focusing on the worn tires of the lead car. Only suggestion would be to maybe darken the grass in the foreground somewhat in an arc to the left to better direct the eye. Great action image.   Posted: 04/04/2021 11:17:36

Good capture and well titled. In my view it needs cropping to bring the tires in to the subject rather than an overall view of the race. You can see the left front and right rear tires are off the ground. Am sure the original would hold detail a little better. I did not feel the second card adds anything to the image.   Posted: 04/04/2021 18:47:41

Karl, I tend to agree with Chuck that a closer crop would work better in terms of focusing on the "subject" - the worn tires on the foreground car. I also prefer the monochrome for it's increased texture (structure) and because there are fewer distractions than in the colour version. I think your low angle of capture works well.   Posted: 04/13/2021 15:49:59

Good capture and timing. The car somewhat blends into the background, you could try a different colored filter, I went with a purple custom filter and the background got darker and the car stands out a little more. Chuck's crop is good for just showing the one car, I also like both cars but crop out the distracting background. See my second image of both cars.   Posted: 04/19/2021 13:36:56

Here is my two-car crop. Both images had some noise reduction as well, I used Giga pixel to enlarge and reduce the noise of the images.   Posted: 04/19/2021 13:38:20
