Kylemore Abbey by Cindy Lynch

October 2020 - Kylemore Abbey

About the Image(s)

I just loved this postcard scene in Ireland. I tried to make it a little different by adding including the boat in the foreground. I used Nik filters to bring out the details and a lot of dodging and burning in Photoshop to get the look and contrast I wanted. Settings: f/6.3, 1/160 sec., ISO 100 and 44 mm focal length.

A beautiful scene, very moody in monochrome. I agree with your decision to include the boat. Well composed with a wonderful variety of textures all in sharp detail. The lightness of the abbey draws our eye deep into the frame. I want to be there!   Posted: 10/20/2020 21:41:13

An interesting subject which you have handled well. I like the detail in the abbey and the trees behind. I think the image suits a mono conversion. My only suggestion is to increase the foreground as I think the boat is a little close to the edge either using the original or by cloning.   Posted: 10/27/2020 10:18:44

It really looks like a postcard, I like the boats in the foreground. It would be nice if there would be a little more room in the foreground. No other suggestions.   Posted: 10/27/2020 19:53:12
