About the Image(s)

I took this shot through the windshield of our car as we slowly drew up behind these young kids (it was around 4 pm, so I assumed they were heading home from school). Taken with my old Nikon D600, ISO 1600, f/10 at 1/640 sec, 78 mm.
The colour version (with some basic post-procession here) seemed a bit busy to me. Converting the image to BW and cloning out the large arrow in the background encouraged my eye along the line of trees more directly to the cyclists.

Agree, the mono version is best. Great composition, contrast and, sharpness. I like your use of ISO 1600. Amazing that it was made through a car windshield.   Posted: 03/13/2020 19:59:55

Love the mono version. Your perspective and luck in finding the magic number of 3 riders make this a very well composed image. I think it should do well in competition. Nice job!   Posted: 03/18/2020 17:20:01

Agree with deleting the street sign. Not sure about competitions and wonder if cloning out or decreasing sharpness of the buildings in some of the gaps in the trees on the left would help or become too bright and hurt. I really like the three taking you into the pic.   Posted: 03/21/2020 12:13:27

I like the mono version, it has nice leading lines, the three riders bring your attention to the center. Good idea on removing the arrow. If anything I would maybe crop off a little off of the top, it is a little bright there.   Posted: 03/21/2020 20:59:52

I prefer the mono version. I think you have got the cyclists in just the right position in the frame. I would agree with Jeffrey about cropping the top. I would also darken the end of the building at the bottom and lighten the trees slightly to show more detail,   Posted: 03/24/2020 13:32:05
