About the Image(s)

I took this in Europe while visiting somewhere along the Rhine. I changed it to mono and added some contrast to it and sharpened it up a bit. Which version do you prefer? The mono or color?

Paul, The mono version I like best. In my view, the lack of a base for the door is distracting. A door needs a way to step inside the door. Having said that there could be some sort of other conflict which made for such a tight crop.   Posted: 10/05/2019 14:27:40

I like the mono version and picture. Color on the door only isn't enough for me. Surprised the window above the door doesn't have any color. Not sure the light fixture adds much - cropped too much for me.
Chuck has a good point. Can you crop at the ground to add some base?

I'd have to dig up the original to see.   Posted: 10/06/2019 17:51:14

I agree that the image has been cropped too tight on three sides. However, I would probably crop a little from the top and add texture and clarity in adobe camera raw. I like the light fitting   Posted: 10/07/2019 06:17:55

You have great texture and details in this photo. I love capturing doors and windows whenever I travel. Technically, very well done. My suggestions are much like those above. I think it would be a stronger composition if you added space to the bottom and left. I would keep the top, however, so you don't lose the crosses above the door.   Posted: 10/10/2019 13:47:49
