Inside out in Bangladesh by Jo-Ann Rolle

January 2021 - Inside out in Bangladesh

About the Image(s)

In December 2019 I was in Bangladesh… it seems like a lifetime ago after a year of COVid travel restrictions. I pulled out one of the photos taken on the trip… it was an ancient and abandon facility… the bars on the window reminds me of the barriers to movement in 2020. I struggled with the shot .. I wanted an image that was darkness rom the inside with light showing through to the outside. I feel that in 2021 we finally have a vision to the light on the other side of this global pandemic. Happy New Year of hope to all.

Image enhanced in Lightroom classic with clarity, sharpness, and vignettes.

An interesting view into the hopeful future. I think I would like to see a bit more detail in the shadow area, the window frame.   Posted: 01/28/2021 11:16:21

I really like this image. I think you did a great job creating an image that evokes the emotions you talked about in your description. Nicely done.   Posted: 01/31/2021 20:18:26

I like minimalism. Exposure is good. Increasing the exposure around the window would change the image and may not be what you had in mind. The streaks of darkness under the window would stand out more and may be interesting. I wonder how it would look BnW?   Posted: 01/31/2021 20:35:15
