Steptoe Butte by Fred Doerfler, QPSA, JPSA Editorial Bronze Star

November 2020 - Steptoe Butte

About the Image(s)

My image was taken off the Steptoe Butte in the Palouse of Washington September 2019. I was on a photography tour with PSA during the annual conference. This was morning about 8AM. The cloud formation was intriguing.

Beautiful photo! I was on a photo tour with my camera club to Glacier NP at the time...I should have extended that trip a bit further west! I'm not sure that you need all that sky. I'd be tempted to crop down from the top a bit, forming more of a panoramic aspect.   Posted: 11/20/2020 14:53:31

I agree with Alan's comment about the sky. I don't know this location at all but really like the feeling of large open space it portrays. clearly a wide angle shot i imagine would be even better viewed as a large poster size at full resolution.
Nice one Fred!   Posted: 11/20/2020 23:11:23

I agree with Graham ... would love to see this as a large print!   Posted: 11/21/2020 13:21:05
