October 2020 - Frigate Bird

About the Image(s)

My image this month is a Frigate bird in the Galapagos that is preening is feathers. There is some head motion that I tried to sharpen.

Very interesting behavior. I wish I could see a bit more of the bird.   Posted: 10/18/2020 12:11:49

I really like the line of the feather that the bird is preening. Great job capturing interesting behavior in the bird. I agree with Al, I would have liked to see more of the bird. The orange colored branch/grass that cuts through the back feathers is a bit distracting, but not much you can do to fix that if you follow the nature/wildlife rules for competition.   Posted: 10/31/2020 16:00:10

This image made me smile... I must admit my focus is on the preening of the feather... its almost as if it is desperately separating an unwanted body part... the beak has what looks like a strong grip but that feather isn't moving.. . interesting   Posted: 10/31/2020 16:15:14
