Pond on a Rainy Day by Cora Rosenhaft

March 2020 - Pond on a Rainy Day

About the Image(s)

I took this image on my iPhone camera. It was taken through a bus window on a rainy day. I know there are some problems with it (too bright sky, blurry rain drops) but there is something about it that draws me in. I like the color and the atmosphere. I have not done any post processing on it. I was thinking of experimenting with some creative post processing (perhaps water color effect or something along those lines). What do you think? Is it worth the time and effort at trying to make something from it? Or is it a nice try, but not quite worth the effort?

I like the image, but it is to green,I first ran the image through Photoshop CS6, then I went to Topaz Studio 2. After that I ran it through Topaz Sharpen Ai. This what I have.   Posted: 03/13/2020 22:01:27

The comments from Stuart Caine are spot on. I don't think you can do much about the water drops, but with the color corrections that Stuart did it is quite a nice photo. I must add … I do like the composition.   Posted: 03/16/2020 14:44:20

I too like the composition. The house peeks out just enough. The sky is bright which i find contrasts with the raindrops on the window. I would expect some clouds. And the brightness pulls the eye away. The green, the raindrops on the glass and blurred in lower foreground and edges, for me, give the picture almost a vintage, Diana camera look. This would not be the look for competitions but for fine art galleries, it might just work. I cropped it a little.   Posted: 03/16/2020 19:38:45

I think this image was well seen and captured thru a bus window.
the green didn't bother me until I saw Stuart Caine's edits which offer an alternative which I also like. Now I can't decide which I like best! I think it's a matter of personal taste. Which one looks most like the original scene?   Posted: 03/23/2020 00:17:04
