Ladybug and the Aphid by Cora Rosenhaft

January 2020 - Ladybug and the Aphid

About the Image(s)

I like this image because it shows the ladybug doing something more than sitting there (eating the aphid). I like the curve of the stem of the flower and how it leads you between the ladybug and the flower. What I don't like about the image is the lack of sharpness. What do you think? Is it worth working with it to try to improve it or is it close but not quite close enough?

I also forgot to mention I don't like the distracting background. If it is worth working on I would try to at least remove that blurry dead leaf behind the it.   Posted: 01/11/2020 07:59:34

The lady bug itself looks quite sharp to me. I do have to agree that the background is rather distracting. You could try and crop in closer to the subject. Unless you are using a very high megapixel camera, you probably can't crop in really close though.   Posted: 01/11/2020 08:24:29

I also find the curved line interesting. However for me there are too many distracting elements. I cropped in just to have the ladybug as the main subject but it was blurred.   Posted: 01/12/2020 14:04:27

I agree with previous comments about a busy background being a bit distracting and the resolution is too low for a sharp cropped version. I think this image is best ;left a is. May not be a competition winner but interesting just the same.   Posted: 01/20/2020 15:13:22
