About the Image(s)

I took this portrait of a pole dancer last weekend in a quarry. Color of her eyes is incredible, no contact lenses, no edit. I wanted to shoot a "different" photo so I used wide-angle lens.
Canon 1DX MkII + Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 LII USM on 16mm f/2.8 1/800 sec.

An interesting image that immediately captures the eye … is she flying? :-) I do think you could crop in a bit from both sides. I am not sure that they are adding to the photo.   Posted: 09/11/2019 09:24:07

Thank you Alan! I thought this composition - considering the object - needed the "air". But I'll take your advice and I'll try cropping.   Posted: 09/30/2019 11:11:09

I have to agree with Alan's comment about the cropping in on each side. I also believe that maybe darkening the sky might a little more might give a little more definition to the pole dancer.   Posted: 09/18/2019 12:12:41

Thanks Tom! As I replied to Alan's comment, I'll try to crop. I think you are absolutely right, must make the background a little bit darker. Thank you for your remark!   Posted: 09/30/2019 11:15:39

Great action shot and wow factor. Face and eyes appear sharp. Exposure is right on. background is not distracting. The cloud in the upper right corner is too bright compared to her face. I attached the image with some changes I made. I tilted and worked on the highlights and dark face. It's not perfect but gives the general idea.   Posted: 09/28/2019 19:20:39

Many thanks Fred! I think vignetting would make the photo better. Thank you for showing you idea, it works!

I love all of the triangles you make with the pose of the dancer. The eye does pull me in and I like how the blue of the eye mirrors the blue of the sky.   Posted: 09/30/2019 09:24:32

Thank you very much, Cora! Yesss, the color of the dancer's eyes like the sky. I haven't seen this kind of blue eyes before. I am glad you like the triangles! I try to make triangles, although this is not conscious anymore, but rather instinctive.   Posted: 09/30/2019 11:28:20

I did not do a good job on the clouds but I think you get the general idea.   Posted: 09/30/2019 15:26:52

Wow! Red hair, fish net stockings on a pole against the sky! What creativity and imagination.   Posted: 09/30/2019 21:38:49
