Iowan Farmer by Cora Rosenhaft

August 2019 - Iowan Farmer

About the Image(s)

I took this image at the Des Moine Farmer's Market. I took a lot of images of vegetables and other produce close up, but I also wanted to get an image that told more of a story of the event. I liked this image because you see the variety of items that farmers were selling at the market as well as one of the farmers. The post processing was mostly just cropping the image to remove a little clutter from the edges and removing the head of someone walking behind the farmer (on the other side of the bushes).

Like the image. Great detail, color and clarity in the lady, the flowers she is holding and the vegetables on the table. My only suggestion would be to fix some of the hot spots on the beans in the green basket in front.   Posted: 08/19/2019 20:39:07

My camera club has an agreement with the parks & rec department of a nearby city to provide photos in return we are provided meeting space. One of the events that we photograph is the weekly farmer's market. There is always a wide variety of subject from the colorful vegetables to people interacting to the band playing at the outdoor bandstand.

You have captured one of the prime activities - a vendor and her produce. The colors are bright, the vegetables look very appetizing :-) The vendor is well depicted.

Well done!   Posted: 08/25/2019 14:13:23

I too like to take images at farmer's markets. I like your image very much. Having her cell phone on papers and having her being active all gives a reality to the business of the market.   Posted: 08/28/2019 16:57:54
