Shades of Zanzibar by JoAnne Rolle

August 2019 - Shades of Zanzibar

About the Image(s)

I was in Tanzania and Zanzibar and while I did not spend as much time shooting as I would like, I captured a few images. I wanted to submit something different this month but could not choose between several competing images. I am grateful for the inspiration of the study group. During the last exhibited it was suggested that I use Lightroom which I have owned but spent more training time on Aperture which was later discontinued by Apple. I loaded Lightroom and Topaz Studio and several images. I experimented with the Topaz AI Clarity and AI Re-mix to come up with an unusual combination. I liked the play of colors and the abstraction. The colors reminded me of the city Zanzibar and the waters around the boats seemed playful. Not sure what the group will say but I enjoyed getting back into the editing process with the tools. Thanks! Shot with Cannon and 250 lens; post editing in Lightroom and Topaz for color and abstraction.

JoAnn, I really like this. Its not something I would suggest doing very often, but it certainly perks up the "How'd she do that?" button! :-) Very cool, very well done.   Posted: 08/10/2019 21:04:42

Bright colorful and very different. My only suggestion would be to post the original so one can see the difference in the editing and creating you did.   Posted: 08/19/2019 20:40:42
