About the Image(s)
This is the result of experimenting with low key photography using window light. I used my Olympus E-M1X Camera with a 12-40mm F2.8 lens at a focal length of 25mm. It was shot at 1/5 second at f 5.0 and is the result of 8 focus stacked images. I used Photoshop to merge the images by first loading them as layer from lightroom. I then selected the images (now layers) and did auto align. Next auto merge. This leaves an image with the sharpest focus from each layer. I then adjusted the light and removed any spots

I will play with your idea. This is one of my first attempts at low key photography. I do kind of like the darkness of it. It accentuates the shapes. Thank you and Jamie for the feedback.   Posted: 11/08/2020 19:15:04

I like this one better but I'm still waiting to hear more about low-key and why you want to use it.   Posted: 11/17/2020 13:46:23

I agree with Beverly about the darkness being too much. I like the way she selectively brightened some leaves. I think the large leaf needs lighting more too. I may try and work with it too and add later. Like the idea and composition.   Posted: 11/08/2020 14:34:25

Lloyd, I like your mixture of colors and textures, but I agree that the photo is too dark. I found myself wanting to be able to see more of the shapes, colors and textures.   Posted: 11/09/2020 08:33:35

My first reaction - it's too dark. Next was - it's really sharp! Then I read your description and thought I must learn more about low key photography. Maybe you could say more about why you like it so dark. The composition and sharpness are perfect.   Posted: 11/09/2020 10:00:32
Wow, I love the stark contrast of the leaves against the black background. Great use of negative space to keep the focus on he different textures and colors of the leaves. I think the variety of different leaves makes for a really interesting combination. The sharpness of the leaves and the highlights on their edges are perfect. Great shot!   Posted: 11/19/2020 11:25:34
