About the Image(s)

I took this at the Boynton Beach Pirate Fest. Not one of my best but working with Windows 10 subsequent to a total crash of my hard drive and fortunate that my grandson was able to salvage my photos as well as everything else. The added headache is that all my filters, etc. have lost the memory of my passwords and I'm still waiting for support from Topaz, Luminar, etc., etc. So for this month, you get the best of what's available with what I had in hand.

I really like what you did with background. It is so sharp and detailed. Interesting person!   Posted: 12/07/2019 19:59:43

Thanks Jamie. It was a bit tedious because I had to do it the hard way but I appreciated the result.   Posted: 12/07/2019 21:36:44

What I did to create the backdrop was create a new blank image. With the eyedrop took a color from the had, adjusted it in "Image" adjust brightness, color, contrast, etc. and then used the gradient tool. When I was satisfied with the result, I pasted the pirate onto the new image and flattened the layers.   Posted: 12/08/2019 13:43:20
Thanks for explaining how you changed the background - I really like the photo!   Posted: 12/12/2019 13:34:14

I think you did a great job without Topaz and other filters. THe beans, was that what you used to create the backdrop?   Posted: 12/08/2019 10:18:14

Actually I made it simpler. I just painted a background with one of the colors I picked from the hat and then adjusted in image, adjustments. But when I saw the beans I tried to remove them and was unsuccessful so I left them.   Posted: 12/09/2019 11:25:55

I love the pirate and the colors. I don't see any beans where are they? I like how you were able to isolate the feathers and how sharp everything is. I probably would have cropped a little off the top.   Posted: 12/15/2019 07:20:14

Beans are on the upper right corner as one of the orifinals   Posted: 12/15/2019 07:56:56

Oops - upper right corner   Posted: 12/15/2019 07:57:57

Beverly, I think you are headed the right direction. The hard part of changing the background is getting a final image that looks like an original. I think a closer crop would help and you may consider adding some texture to the background.   Posted: 12/16/2019 18:49:13

Wonderful portrait ! Might crop a bit from the top and vignette at the top as well.   Posted: 12/17/2019 18:35:56

I had submitted this to the other group in which I participate and one of the comments was suggesting a green background instead of what you see. In that I responded by changing the background for opinion, I'm including the green background image here and look forward to comments. My personal preference is still the original choice.   Posted: 12/17/2019 19:40:48
