About the Image(s)

I went back in my files to 2014, what with my travels curtailed for the foreseeable future. During my travels on Route 66, I came across this tow truck hooked up to an ancient car, and with the brilliant white plus dark shadows, I shot my usual bracket sequence. I tone mapped the images in Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 and brought the resulting file into Photoshop, where I cloned out a white sign that I felt was distracting, and cropped a bit off the right side.

Hope everyone is keeping well in these difficult times, and hope everyone can get out and do some shooting, even if only near home.

Don, nicely done. Good decision to crop the right side and to clone out the sign. Nice composition with the tow truck being the whitest thing in the photo and then I followed it backd to the "Old Vehicle".   Posted: 06/05/2020 13:04:54

The tonal range is very good with details in the shadows. The modern tow truck stands out boldly against the old rustic scene. The mountains in the background are very sharp, well done.   Posted: 06/06/2020 17:09:07
