About the Image(s)

Deion: I bracketed 3 shots based on the brightest area and the darkest area using the HDR soft calculator. This is a real estate listing. That is the back of the "For Sale" sign in the window. Much darker window exposures are what the agents want but I have not found a way yet using Photomatix. I have also tried darkening just the window area in Lightroom but then the window frame looks too dark. In this final picture, after combining the 3 in Photomatix, I used the adjustment brush in Light room to lower the exposure on the couch and on the ceiling lights.
Camera: Nikon D750, No flash, Tokina 17-35mm lens , F9, 21mm.

Buildings, real estate listings, and houses are a great way to use the exposure ranges of HDR. This image shows a lot of the room attributes and even the yard. A quick and easy way to darken the glass panes would be to quick select each individual frame of the window, and darken them a tad. If you had many to do, that might become time-consuming. Nice coloring, and not too much distortion with the wide-angle. Well-taken.   Posted: 10/08/2018 13:29:21
Thank you for the tip. It's appreciated. I noticed that the photo is more yellow than the one I sent. I wonder why that is.   Posted: 10/10/2018 10:58:24

Nice rendition of HDR, but IMHO I think it is a bit too bright.   Posted: 10/09/2018 20:51:35

First, I would ask the Realtor to take the sign down for the shot. Look at the tree with the arching branch in the background; if I was interested in buying that would be a selling factor as I would be looking out that front window and it's a beautiful view IMHO. I'd use more dehaze. I would have turned on the lamp at right to balance out the glow at left. Other than that, this a a good realty photo.   Posted: 10/11/2018 09:46:58

Yes, I've used HDR to balance out the relatively bright exterior scenes showing out of windows and see detail both inside and outside. I agree with Trey that it would be worthwhile to remove the sign temporarily and turn on the lamp. Have you tried other tone mapping software such as Nik HDR Efex Pro or Aurora HDR? One of these might balance the indoor and outdoor light better; I find that in some cases one program works better and at other times a different one is better.   Posted: 10/24/2018 13:57:07

Don, I use to be a developer in Houston. The composition is very good. I agree the forsale sign should have been removed. I darken the photo a little and used more contast to bring out the lights in the room, which, I believe, make it softer and more inviting.   Posted: 10/26/2018 15:02:32
