Deion: This photo was taken on September 2009 while in Nice, France.

I was experimenting with bracketing; first time I had tried. I took 10 photos over a period of an hour, -10 to +10, with 2 point increments, ISO 100. I liked the way I was able to get the light fixture at the very top to show the brackets of the light. All I have is the final photo as my hard drive crashed. I now have three backup drives and that shouldn’t happen again. I Hope!

While taking the photos an English lady came up to me and asked what I was doing. I explained I was taking a series of photos. We began a conversion, and after I finished she invited my brother and myself to her apartment to have coffee. Very interesting lady from England. We talked for about an hour and then said goodbye.

Hi Richard, I am visiting from Monochrome Group 32. I really like street scenes empty of people, so I very much like this. I think it also works very well in monochrome. What do you think?   Posted: 10/05/2018 21:23:50

I prefer the colored version, but both work well, and perhaps there is a bit more details in the black and white. Well-done Stephen. Sorry to hear about your hard drive crash. Glad to know that this image was salvaged. It is simple, complex, and quite compelling. Nice depth, colors, and lighting. Makes me feel that I am the one standing there taking the image!   Posted: 10/08/2018 13:18:54

Can't say I saw this when I was in Nice 40 years ago haha. I like it a lot and the monochrome version you couldn't lose at either. My question: Why take 10 shots over an hour? Very nicely done. A wall hanger.   Posted: 10/11/2018 09:51:37

Very good, Richard. I only wish that there were a bit more light on the upper stories of the buildings. Sorry to hear of your hard drive crash; this emphasizes the need for multiple backups in this day and age where you don't have a piece of film in your hand.   Posted: 10/24/2018 14:04:00

Don would like to see some details in the upper stories of the buildings, and I'd like to see some stars shining through, LOL!! You did well tho to get so much of the dynamic range!   Posted: 10/24/2018 19:14:33
