About the Image(s)

The subtle colors of spring trees as the leaves are just budding is one of my favorite subjects. This image doesn't have a strong subject, but I find it peaceful.

Camera settings: f-8, 1/4000th sec, ISO 400, 28mm focal length, hand held, auto exposure.

Three images, processed through photomatix, in CR, used recovery slider, full light, clarity, sl. increase in saturation and variance, luminance noise reduction +28, and remove aberrations. In Ps, further removed ch. abb. by selecting the color, and reducing the saturation. The tree limbs had banding of fuschia pretty heavy in the original. Slight dodge and burn of the distant trees and old barn, slight levels adjustment, and cropped. Then taken into topaz details for a slight improvement in the details.

I could look at this shot all day and find new things I do not see the first time. Very good image. But I love old barns.   Posted: 06/01/2018 21:50:33

I really like this but would have had the "Peaceful": somewhere in the title. The mist, the barn and the buds all add to the ambiance.

I did three quick things. First I cloned out the dead limb in the upper right. I cropped to put the barn at the 1/3rd point. Lastly used PS Camera Raw Filter to add some contrast and saturation.

Well done!   Posted: 06/03/2018 16:41:35

I like your changes Gary. I would never have occurred to me to clone out that dead branch, lol. Thanks.   Posted: 06/18/2018 21:20:23

I also enjoy these peaceful, spring scenes including items such as old barns, covered bridges, grain elevators, and so on. Well done, Wanda. Gary, your improvements definitely help the scene. Maybe I'm nit-picking a bit, but there are two small twigs at the upper right corner and one near the upper left corner that intrude a bit and could also be cloned out.   Posted: 06/19/2018 15:36:33

Thank you Don for the suggestion.

This is a very nice subtle peaceful photo. Liked the way tree leaves with spring leaves pull the viewers into the photo. I agree with Gary that removing the dead branch helped, by removing an obstruction. Wanda, you do have a knack for great compositions;

Thanks for the compliment Richard. We each have our own way of seeing things, unique and special. I need to be able also to take a look at items that are pulling at the eye that can be eliminated!   Posted: 06/20/2018 03:47:34

Wanda, such a nice peaceful image, I agree with Gary's fixes, otherwise I would not change a thing, I love fog and old barns. You do fine some interesting subjects to photograph.   Posted: 06/30/2018 10:25:32
