About the Image(s)
I was attending the International conference in Sapporo, Japan in January. Sapporo surpassed Hakodate in 2015 and became one of the three new night scenes in Japan, and the most representative night view spot in Sapporo is the "Moiwa Mountain Observatory". In one evening, I took the sightseeing cable car to the top of the mountain, and enjoy a 360-degree view of the bustling street lights in Sapporo. My Nikon D-810 was on tripod with f/6.3, 8 second and ISO 125. The post-processing of local adjustment was done in Viveza3 and cropped in PhotoShop.

This is a pleasant night shot but I find myself wandering around the image trying to find something to concentrate the eye. There is a colourful tower on the left with a couple of blocks of apartments and I think the image would be much improved if you concentrate on that area of the image. Commenting on the image as presented, I like the tree on the right which adds good depth to the picture.   Posted: 03/01/2023 18:11:16
You are truly fortunate to be able to visit many photogenic places at night while attending conferences. I never realized Sapporo became a "night-scene" destination, and you captured the city lights magnificently. Compositionally, I like the silhouetted tree in the foreground on the right and the brighter lights leading my eye to the ferris wheel and tower on the right. However, the scene appears a little too dark overall, it might help to boost up the shadows and blacks to bring out more detail in the foreground. I took a stab at it here.   Posted: 03/02/2023 09:07:13
Another lovely night scene from you. You have visited so many interesting places! I like the way your scene is framed by the tree silhouette on the right and the bright tower and ferris wheel on the left. It is an interesting shot well captured. I prefer keeping the exposure dark so the dots of lights shine so brightly.   Posted: 03/16/2023 09:26:20
Thanks to share this, good to know, Sapporo was added to my to-visit list.
I do like the tree on front, and a roughly positioned light pointing toward to the ferris wheel, to strengthen this, would recommend darken the front bright light, and just leave the middle ones.   Posted: 03/19/2023 12:18:24
