Juve Bald Eagle by Charlie Yang

January 2021 - Juve Bald Eagle

About the Image(s)

This is an 2020 image, prior to 'stay at home', and got some time this winter to dig it out and run through Topaz deNoise and readjust light, shadow, textual, etc

Title: Juve Bald Eagle,

D500, 200-500mm @500mm f/5.6, S=1/2500, ISO2500, probably on tripod and gimbal, (don't remember).

Post Proc: Even I though I already have Topaz denoise AI last year, want to try it out against the new algorithm see if that actually help.

What a wonderful shot of this eagle. You stopped the action perfectly with great details on the bird. There is good separation of the eagle from the background. Excellent job. I wouldn't change a thing.   Posted: 01/07/2021 09:56:45

Excellent bird-in-flight image. The eyes are sharp, good details in the feathers, nice simple background...what else can you ask for?   Posted: 01/07/2021 10:20:14

Well done Charlie, very sharp focus, nice slightly blurred water background, and nice space to the left side of the image. The feather pattern cries out to be an enlargement for us to appreciate. A slight increase in lighting of the bird to increase its contrast with the water (both seem about the same color and exposure) would improve the image for me.

Is the eagle carrying something?   Posted: 01/07/2021 10:38:01

How could anyone argue with this image?!! Too bad the impressive tip of the beak is lost against the dark background of wing feathers. Did you really intend to say "juve"?   Posted: 01/10/2021 18:32:32
