Autumn Reflections on Lake by Ray Henrikson

November 2020 - Autumn Reflections on Lake

About the Image(s)

I observed this a couple of weeks ago sitting at my dining room table at the edge of Loon Lake in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. Nikon D7100, Nikkor 18-300 lens at 195mm, ISO 400, camera set on program. At this time of year, in certain light, and with the reflective surface of the lake cooperating, autumn colors are shown at their peak. Some cropping and color tweaking in edit.

Beautiful fall colors reflected in the lake! Nicely captured as an abstract image with good composition and balance.   Posted: 11/02/2020 16:20:56

Good thinking, Ray. Photograph the reflection rather than the trees. Looks like it could be sold as an expensive painting!! I like the combination of colors and blue sky. Well done.   Posted: 11/03/2020 11:00:16

These beautiful colors make a lovely abstract. Nicely seen.   Posted: 11/07/2020 09:32:23

Absolutely love the colors of the trees reflected in the water; ripples, blue sky shining through and the straight lines of the trees. You brought out the color nicely in post processing. Lucky you to have the beautiful trees that produce those colorful leaves!   Posted: 11/09/2020 17:44:31

It looks like a great oil painting to me. I personally will favor to add some real trees in the upper part. Otherwise it is an abstract oil painting to me.   Posted: 11/25/2020 02:33:49
