About the Image(s)

Shot in RAW, 49mm, 1/1000 sec., f 9 and ISO of 320. Saw a person on a bike running on the berm of the Everglades near sunset. Immediately thought that a silhouette shot would be good. Parked my car and then waited about 10 minutes for others to ride by. In PhotoShop, lowered exposure, increased contrast, highlights, whites, blacks, clarity and vibrance. Lowered shadows.

A very nice clean and simple silhouette, Don! The sharp silhouette images contrast nicely with the beautiful clouds. And, I like the way the clouds go all the way to the bottom of the image with no distractions in the background. The silhouetted grasses on the left add some interest as well.   Posted: 11/01/2020 19:38:16

David: Was actually there to photograph a sunset, so the sky was bright with about a half hour to go before the sun would set. Then along came the silhouette.

Great capture of an awesome silhouette with such well defined edges. Nicely seen and captured. My only suggestion is to add a little more black to the bottom so their tires are not riding on the border of the image.   Posted: 11/07/2020 09:37:57

Try me again, Cindy. I don't quite know what you are suggesting. Don   Posted: 11/07/2020 10:37:52

Good job for catching these two bikers against the backdrop of those spectacular clouds. The two bikers are very well focused and you post-processed so that they stand out as silhouettes. Nicely done.   Posted: 11/09/2020 17:52:26

Couldn't ask for a better silhouette. It's almost as if the sky stopped to provide you with a beautiful background. Very well done.   Posted: 11/18/2020 15:40:50

Did you think of getting rid of the grass at the bottom the image? That would have made the image ethereal.   Posted: 11/19/2020 20:48:43

Did not think about the grass. Guess I simply never really saw it!   Posted: 11/20/2020 10:27:55

The very interesting silhouette is nicely against the background clouds. I can understand Cindy's comment. The tires looked like riding just on the edge of the image!   Posted: 11/25/2020 02:35:07
