About the Image(s)

Such an amazing and long story for a seemingly never ending project. It was so interesting to see it and hear about the family's dedication to finishing it. I brought out the details and contrast and hopefully was able to show the size with the trucks giving perspective. Settings: f/16, 1/500 sec., ISO 400 and 100 mm focal length.

The Crazy Horse Monument is quite a sight. My wife and I visited it about 4 years ago and were impressed by the sheer size of it all. You captured the construction work nicely, but if one is not familiar with the monument, it's hard to tell that the white chalk markings is supposed to be the horse's head. The image was well processed though.   Posted: 11/01/2020 19:52:40

A very sharp picture that tells a story. And you caught a thunderhead in the background!! Was there several years ago. Thanks for the story!   Posted: 11/02/2020 11:50:47

This is huge! thanks for sharing, it's on my to visit list.
venture to guess, this is a shot driving through the area, thus the iso/shutter. nice capture!

An incredible scene of a site that someone has carved into a mountain. It is so massive it reduces the trucks on the top to minute size. It looks like you have used HDR? I would just suggest a little more black and gray tones, because it looks so flat color-wise.
Never been there so I don't know the story but I will have to put this on my bucket list.   Posted: 11/09/2020 17:58:26

I reworked it a little. What do you think now?   Posted: 11/29/2020 20:39:48

What I like about the reworked photo is that the surface of the rock is lightened but the contrast is maintained showing off the pattern in the rock. And the profile of Crazy Horse stands out more. Nice!   Posted: 11/29/2020 21:15:49

Interesting photograph that needs explanation and additional images. It is fine as a record of a stage in the project.   Posted: 11/19/2020 20:54:47

It is a great landscape image with a good story. Without the explanation, I did not see the white chalk markings is supposed to be the horse's head!   Posted: 11/25/2020 02:32:25
