About the Image(s)

This is the Fruitlands Farmhouse in Harvard, MA. I merged 3 exposures together in Photomtix for this HDR version. After cropping and cloning out the sign, I used Nik Color Efex filters of Tonal Contrast and Darken/Lighten Center and then the Clarity and Exposure sliders in Camera Raw. I liked the road leading to the Farmhouse in this image, but also liked the flowers in the foreground in Original 2 - not sure which is more appealing. Settings: f/11, 1/125 sec., ISO 100 and 32mm focal length.

Beautiful New-England-in-the-fall landscape image. Nicely composed! I like both images (original 1 and original 2). But, I prefer original 1 as it's a cleaner image. Original 2 has potential if the grass in the very bottom and some of the trees on the right were cropped out, and the top of the fence needs to be cloned out as well. But, the path in original 1 has those leading lines taking your eyes right to the house. It's a much stronger image. Well seen and well done!   Posted: 09/02/2020 16:29:36

I like number 1 because the farm house for me is the subject and number 1 shows the house more than number 2. Nice sky and colors in photo. And since I tend to like things neat and orderly, the cut grass in number 1 shows up more than in 2. Of course, the path in is a plus.   Posted: 09/10/2020 13:57:22

You have two originals! How did you manage that? One must be a constructed original. Have you used this image before? It looks so familiar. I'm certain many people have photographed this scene, it is a classic. I like original 1 better with the path and the fence.   Posted: 09/14/2020 22:08:25

I can load several photos if you want to send the original, monochrome version, etc. I don't think I submitted this before, however, I've had it for a while so...maybe?? If so, not on purpose.   Posted: 09/15/2020 21:20:55

I do like #1, for cloud, for composition, of fence line, of path. Unless layer mask and add those flowers from #2 to #1. But #1 has stronger and interesting composition, my two cents.

nice balance on color saturation, perfect!   Posted: 09/17/2020 22:06:32

I enjoy watch the HDR image. The origin 1 is more appealing to me for it has more color contrast and saturation. It is very nice that the cloud formation was very much enhanced from the origin.   Posted: 09/27/2020 06:14:33
