I was attending an International conference held in Queenstown, New Zealand last week. Queenstown is a resort town in Otago in the south-west of New Zealand's South Island. The town is built around an inlet called Queenstown Bay on Lake Wakatipu, a long, thin, Z-shaped lake formed by glacial processes, and has views of nearby mountains. I took the skyline gondola to the mountain top. The paranormal view overlooks the Queenstown is really spectacular and magnificent. I waited till sunset. My Nikon D810 was on tripod in the observatory platform. The images were taken with f/18, 15 seconds and ISO of 64. The post processing was done in Viveza2 by local enhancement and cropped in PhptoShop.

I find this image most appealing. The warm glow of sunset is quite inviting. The glow of the city connects nicely to the white caps of the mountains and the sea leads nicely to the color in the sky. I'm really glad you didn't it lighten the image and kept the dusky feeling.
If it were mine I mine crop the detached part of the town off on the left hand edge. But that is just a maker's choice--and you are the maker.

Beautiful image with great composition. I like the way your composition takes the eye from the bright city lights in the lower left and then diagonally upwards to the right, through the water, to see the sky. The colors are so warm and relaxing. And, you captured the scene timely with the city lights on while there was still light in the sky. A beautiful evening photo! I like the water curving to the right which pulls my eye from the city to the water and around the bend. Great sky, pink in some of the clouds, sharp front to back. Very well done! Posted: 12/04/2019 11:06:36
