About the Image(s)

I was attending the 42th annual Japan Neuroscience meeting to be held in Niigata, Japan in the last week. Standing on the 31th floor of the Toki Messe, the Conventional center, there is panorama view of the Niigata city. There was no room for placing the tripod. Thus I hand-held my Nikon D810 took a series of image with 1/125 sec, f/5.6 and ISO of 64 to cover the whole panorama view of the sunset. These images were stitched together in PhotoShop. Image was cropped, rearranged and post processed in Viveza2.

Dramatic clouds and sun-light. Nice to see it take up 3/4th of the photo with various colors and light. In your description, you say "...there is panorama view of the Niigata city". Did you mean for the city to appear in the photo? The foreground is so dark that I can not see what it is. The background appears to be mountains, correct? Since the foreground is dark, an HRD photo might have brought out more detail in both foreground and background. Another possibility is to crop out the bottom section up to the water. Love that sky!!   Posted: 08/05/2019 12:55:17

The buildings in the foreground are part of the Niigata city in the panorama view. I thought the cloud and sky should be the focus. Thus I just want to simplify the foreground by deleting the buildings and filled with trees along the shore. There is not much detail can be revealed in the foreground because they are made up of the original tree line along the shore. I thought that the foreground along with ocean and background mountain are used to generate the perspective. I would like to leave a bit of foreground and I would agree that the foreground can crop out more.   Posted: 08/05/2019 22:30:35

A dramatic photograph, especially the clouds and the horizon.   Posted: 08/05/2019 13:40:11

The clouds and rays of light are spectacular. You have nice details in the clouds and the colors are very pleasing. For me, the sky is the focus of this image and should have more than half of the frame. I'm not sure the black foreground in the bottom of the frame adds anything to the image. By cropping it out, the sky would have more than half of the space and, in my opinion, have more of the focus. You did a great job of stitching your images together.   Posted: 08/05/2019 17:51:23

Great sunset scene. I like the color, in the clouds and reflection, and detail in the clouds. The fog around the island adds some mystery for me.   Posted: 08/07/2019 07:33:46

wonderful image, especially the time and effort to capture in multiple shots then stitch together.
like the cloud formation and details of the shadow, then the light adds, fogs on water, add, good work.   Posted: 08/12/2019 10:39:37
