Spring Run - Off into Trail Creek by Max Burke, APSA

November 2020 - Spring Run - Off into Trail Creek

About the Image(s)

This image was taken just about 5 miles from the Sun Valley resort in canyon that has a road on the opposite side. Needless to say, but many tourists who drive this road end up with white knuckles. It is the Spring run off two springs ago. I used the trusty Nikon D750 with the 24-120 f/4 standby lens for this and other Nikon cameras. It is a 3 shot image with 2 stops between. There was little to do in this image other than standard minor adjustments. Shot at f/11 with ISO 100 with focal length of 50mm. Times were 1/60th, 1000th sec and 1/250th.

I would say you nailed it with good composition, exposure and color. My only nit would be that the clouds seem a bit harsh.   Posted: 11/21/2020 12:11:17

I agree with Bill, everything looks good but the sky seems a bit dark and a little muddy.   Posted: 11/23/2020 13:37:02

Great scene and composition and exposure. The blending works well. I love the greens and the line down the mt.

I am not sure about the clouds, they seem out of place tr too sharp and contrasty.   Posted: 11/29/2020 22:17:34

Interesting subject. Lovely composition. Beautiful blending. Good details throughout the picture with nice texture. I tried to add more warmth to the colors but I am not sure if it made any difference.   Posted: 11/30/2020 11:36:50
