About the Image(s)

Another older photo.. This was photographed December 26th 2018 during a trip to Europe. This place is next door to the Sainte-Chapelle church and was the royal residence and prison. This is a 3 bracket shot with a Sony a7R2 and 16-35 and I have also included the original. The merge was done in Aurora and then converted to B&W in PS with possibly Seim (my go to lately), but do not recall. The other other changes included a crop to a more square format, NIK Perspective Flex (basically DxO ViewPoint) and a burn of the light areas on the closest column.

Brad, I like this image as you have posted it, as the light and dark spread has been handled, as you explain, to include what were the darker areas to include detail, and the lighter areas all show some detail too. The composition is done nicely with the one pillar a third in from the right appears to me to be the dominate one to start viewing the image. I cannot find anything that I could suggest to improve this.   Posted: 10/11/2020 21:39:37

The blend is smooth and the final image very true to the original, albeit in BW. Nicely handled. Maybe push the contrast in the ceiling area a bit to squeeze out a little more impact, but not critical by any means.   Posted: 10/12/2020 16:46:59
