About the Image(s)

Still have been working on images from the past which has been a good thing. This was photographed in May of 2019 during a astro photography conference. We went to Delicate Arch before we began our night shooting. We didn't hang out for the Milky Way since it would be visible for another 6 hours. This was photographed with a Sony a7R2 and 24-70f2.8 at f8, 1/3 of second at ISO 400. This is a 3 exposure blend of 0, +1 and +2 and edited with Aurora 2019. I have included the file Aurora created before the editing began. I don't recall all the steps but it included removing all the people but still leaving 1 person. It included luminosity masking in PS to bring out the color in the color in the clouds. Removed chromatic bush on top of the arch and a crop to remove some of the bottom. The original was very blue, after edit it seemed to warm for the blue hour after sunset. So the final, the blue hour light was put back in. Which do you prefer?

I think your result looks excellent. Putting some of the blue back into the sky but keeping the foreground warmer provides both color contrast but adds to the sense of depth as the cool color recede. Maybe bump the contrast up a bit, but I don't see it as critical. The placement of the figure couldn't be better.   Posted: 09/11/2020 18:08:28

Beautiful composition. Lovely angle of view. Nice color tones. I like the scale of the the standing person and the rocks.   Posted: 09/30/2020 11:39:58
