January 2020 - Stevie Wonder

About the Image(s)

Shot this past summer in downtown Detroit. This mural was painted on the back wall of the Detroit Music Hall by London based artist Richard Wilson. The picture was taken a few days after completion. The reflection in the puddle of water caught my eye for the composition

I used my Canon 7D and a Canon 10-22 WA lens. Three exposures, hand held, +2, ) and -2.
It was processed in Aurora 2019, Essentials setting, Bright Sun preset.

My only post work was a slight correction of verticals and some edge vignetting.

Lisa, Yes, it was the December image. Brad has replaced it.   Posted: 01/12/2020 19:05:58

My apologies for the confusion!
The reflection makes this something other than a record shot of a painting.
I would probably remove the white car on the right and possibly clone out the blue crane.   Posted: 01/21/2020 10:03:58

I thought about cropping into the building to eliminate the white car. It would also remove the blue sliver along the right side.   Posted: 01/22/2020 14:00:43

I agree with what Brad had to say, it is a good image of this building image enhanced by the water reflection and taking out the white car and crane would make this better yet.   Posted: 01/22/2020 13:02:58

Beautiful composition and so nice reflection. Blending is good with beautiful color tones. I agree that removing the white car will add to the lovely picture.   Posted: 01/31/2020 08:56:02
