York Lighthouse with Dark Clouds by Bill Buchanan, HonPSA, FGDC

October 2019 - York Lighthouse with Dark Clouds

About the Image(s)

This image of Yourk Light also known as Nubble light was shot six years ago before the PSA Conference in Portland, ME.

He had a mpotel close to the lighthouse and late in the afternoon the light started to get interesting. I set up my tripod with my Canon 7D and my Cabon 24-105 zoom and shot three exposures at my typical auto setting of three shots at f8, ISO 200. +2,-2 & 0.

It was processed in Photoshop CC 2019 HDR Pro. I tweaked the warmth for late afternoon sun, processed in Topaz AI Clear and Basic Contrast. The edges were darkened slightly and a small gray stroke was added.

A classic Nubble shot with a super sky. All of the technical stuff looks to be on the money. Excellent job on this one.   Posted: 10/09/2019 09:58:41

Very striking image with the red and whites of the lighthouse against the blues and warm tones of the bluff.   Posted: 10/13/2019 13:00:28
