About the Image(s)

I saw a lecture on street photography last night. I remembered some images of my grandchildren from 3 years ago. The Identical twins were on a roller coaster and I had some candid shots. This is not my usual but am interested in the group opinion. Shot in 2014 on my 6D Iso 800 and at 93 mm. I printed the original color and the B&W. Thought I would see what the group thought. I think the both capture the boys' excitement.

You sure can tell they are twins. It works the best as a B&W as it seems to focus your attention. The crop is good. A faster shutter speed would have helped this image. It is good "street photography" that shows feelings and tells a story.   Posted: 01/08/2021 17:52:20

Thanks Mark. Looking back the slower speed seemed to show more movement. I think the color is actually sharper.   Posted: 01/09/2021 11:29:59

I love this action image of these precious little boys having fun. I would clone out some of the distractions around them and give them more room at the top. I would put a frame around them too. I love the Black and White too.   Posted: 01/10/2021 16:03:21

What a happy shot Harley, those two guys are having one fun time. I really like the Mono treatment and appreciate the bit of grain in the image giving it, in my opinion, that street vibe. I like the edit Linda make, but wonder if you could somehow "touch up" the motion blur on the shoes? None the less, your image made me feel happy.   Posted: 01/11/2021 17:01:54

Thanks Bruce. I do like the corrections. I miss their happy faces. They are 3.5 years older now and in North Carolina. Cannot visit just now, my son is a surgeon operating regularly at the hospital and currently his wife is immunocompromised. Cannot wait until the vaccine kicks in. I saw this photo and it made me happy. Interesting, they are on homeschooling and they never stop talking. For better or worse they are fine with each other only. They both draw and draw similar figures and complete each other's stories. Maybe that is too much information but may give some depth the photo

Thanks for sharing Harley, the pandemic has made being a grandpa less fun. I too miss seeing the kids--video chat is just OK and no substitute for being there. At least with the vaccine there is light at the end of the tunnel.   Posted: 01/12/2021 09:57:20

I love the expressions and excitement on their faces. I agree that some of the distractions around it could be cropped out. I like the black and white, though the amount of noise is a bit distracting to me. There is definitely a sense of happiness that the image portrays, and that's awesome!   Posted: 01/12/2021 10:00:48
