About the Image(s)

IS0 250, 50 mm, f/7,1/60. This was made early morning and to me the mountains were taking the comforter off and getting ready to meet the day.

Very nice landscape Lane. I think the colors are just wonderful and the tones in the far sky really enhance the shot. The mountain peaks starting on the left lead my eye into the frame as I circle around the image. There is also a small surprise, fire tower, in the center which adds to the shot. I think your poetic description is apt for this shot.
I do feel that there is a lot of negative space on the right with all of the foreground clouds. Perhaps cropping a little off of the right might give more importance to the mountain tops.

I agree with Bruce. The horizon in the middle makes it unclear if you want the focus on the mountains or the sky. I wonder if you could bring out more detail in the further mountain.   Posted: 11/10/2020 14:31:52

Beautiful Image. I flipped the image to see how it would look. I like the way the fog or the cloud could be used as a leading line to the colorful hillside and continue to look at the mountains in the background.   Posted: 11/10/2020 20:40:29

I love the warm tones and colors in this shot! I agree there is a bit too much on the right hand side in regards to the clouds, a slightly tighter crop would help to balance that out. Or, possibly adding a bit more detail to the clouds, dehaze or contrast maybe. That might bring in some additional shapes to offset the negative space.   Posted: 11/13/2020 08:07:06

The beginning of the Day! Clouds or fog moves on to its destruction by the sunlight! Both the mountains and the fog/clouds provide their own leading lines. I had a thought about the crop. It is very bright in the upper right of the image and I think that subtracts from the message. I would crop some off the top and add to the bottom (if possible). I would try burning the upper right just a little. I would do this just to see if works at all. It might not and this is a very strong image just the way it is. The bright on the right corresponds with the left of the image being lite up.   Posted: 11/13/2020 09:53:33
