About the Image(s)

This was made with an Olympus OMD e-1 MK III, ISO 200 24mm f/10 1/125 Walking off the beach as storm was approaching. I was making images of the drift wood and as the storm was getting closer, I saw the lightening and decided too pack it up. Interesting and challenging light , as it was very bright on the beach and getting very black over the water. The light was changing very quickly.

I really like the feel of this shot Lane. Very moody and ominous. So cool that you captured the lightning and framed it between the two arms of the driftwood. I feel that the rugged texture of the driftwood adds to the look and of course your choice for monochrome is spot on. You have also captured a large tonal range which makes for the best monochrome shots.   Posted: 10/07/2020 06:38:18

This good. It is very good! B&W is a great pick here. What a sky. There is some noise. We can live with that. The lightning strike is the magic moment in this image. A special moment in time framed by driftwood! Great composition! The tones are excellent. White whites and black blacks.   Posted: 10/19/2020 17:59:45

Great leading lines. Love the way the trunk of the tree leads you to the subject the lighting. I love this image, great job. Winner. Would not change a thing.   Posted: 10/26/2020 06:38:48
