About the Image(s)

In Minnesota one year ago I ran into a car show in a motel Parking lot July 1 year ago. I liked the symmetry of the photo I attached, and decided to make an HDR and mess with an aging effect from anthropics since this is of a vintage auto.

Shot with my canon 6D
ISO 320
70-200 canon lens with 1.4X extender ending up with 183 mm
Shot at f 7
Speed obviously varied since it was HDR

I like what you have done here. The HDR worked out well and brought out nice detail in the shadows giving a good overall exposure. The aging effect, in my opinion, was the right choice for this image and gives it a nice old look. I also feel the colors came out well and are typical of cars of that era. I do feel that your crop is a bit tight though, but looking at the original I see you eliminated distractions. You might try a looser crop and try darkening the distractions at the edges to see if that works.   Posted: 09/06/2020 16:02:13

Very nice image. Love the textures and the tones. I just added framing to give the image a little more room.   Posted: 09/11/2020 09:36:11

Thanks Linda. The curve of the fender and rectangular frame are an interesting combination.   Posted: 09/11/2020 09:40:39

In response to Bruce's and your suggestions I loosened the crop and put a border. I could not completely replicate the original edits, I did it again to get close. I also thought facing the car to the right may work better.   Posted: 09/11/2020 16:34:42

I see art written all over this composition. Brilliantly executed I would say.   Posted: 09/18/2020 16:08:23

I really enjoy the curvilinear effect of the composition, overall. The HDR leverages nicely with the antiquity of your subject matter. Colors are extremely vibrant, sharp, and clarified utilizing only two-three colors. I am extremely impressed because I have been invited to Veterans car shows and have yet to attend. Perhaps, I should begin. Thank you for sharing.   Posted: 09/18/2020 16:06:49
