I like your caption of this photo it fits right in with the three friends playing in the water. I like the fact that you chose a fast shutter to freeze the water which I feel adds dimension to your shot. I also like the contrasting colors and your crop showing the edge of the rock which gives a sense of place in my opinion. I do feel the background is a bit bright you might conciser darkening it a somewhat to help focus all attention on the boys. I agree with Bruce on the foreground and the background. I love the photojournalistic image. Love the colors and texture. I wish I could see their eyes. I agree with both Bruce and Linda but I do not seem drawn away from these playful kids by the background. Darkening the background may help, I am not sure. The kids and stop action of the water in what almost appears a coordinated effort to splash all at once seems to draw you in a lot, background only a being a backdrop. Actually, I am not sure I like the title for these boys just being boys. My impression of the three stooges, brings a more slapstick feeling. I was quite taken with this image! Are we seeing partially underwater in the foreground? This is a real "moment in time" photo! You stopped the water in mid air! Yes, this image would benefit from a darker background. Especially since the two boys toward the left have white hats on. I would crop off a bit more of the left side so as to add a composition element. Maybe even add a bit on the right. This photo sure tells a story!
