About the Image(s)

This is another from our travels in Portugal. We were visiting Braga and this church is almost hidden between the museum and other buildings in the pedestrian area of the old centre. I liked the decoration as it is a little understated compared with other churches we have visited in other countries.
EOS 5D Mk1, `EF24-105 at 105, ISO1250, f4, 1/30. O wanted to balance the noise/high iso by using f4, it also gave me 1/30 so hand holding was possible. I used PS to clone out the chain for the chandelier, then back to LR to bring out the details. I had worked on this image before and not been happy to show it to anyone, now, with the latest upgrades to LR I think I'm on to something at last!

I love the warm tone of your image. It makes the scene look rich and comforting. The detail is well developed, even the upper panels are distinguishable. I could see this framed and hanging on your wall. My only suggestion, for next time, would to shoot it square on but that is just a matter of preference.   Posted: 06/06/2020 10:11:13

I wish I could have shot this square, the building wasn't designed for us photographers!   Posted: 06/30/2020 20:01:03

I very good exposure and a good idea to get rid of the chain. I agree with Bruce - such a nice warm tone and color. Very sharp.   Posted: 06/10/2020 18:22:45

Ditto. The center is the main focus. A heavenly photo !   Posted: 06/12/2020 17:51:39

As Harley stated, the center is the subject. For me, it would be a stronger image if you cropped in on the cupidsI, angels. If you were further back, then the scene would show the the interior and the surroundings. As it is now, there is too much information. The tonality is wonderful.   Posted: 06/12/2020 21:34:24

I would agree that the tone is nice. the idea of the photo is good but would recommend to capture it from the center where the ceiling could be aligned in straight line.   Posted: 06/17/2020 10:36:50

Beautiful Image. Love the impact of gold and artwork. I used the transform tool in photoshop to straight the image and change the perspective a little and I cropped out the left side.   Posted: 06/25/2020 10:28:40
