About the Image(s)

Stuck inside a lot. I did a photo stack with Helicon Focus. After cropping I probably did not need the 5 shots.
Shot with Canon 6s with attached ring light. Also 73 mm with extension tubes, f 8, 1/25/sec, iso 100. I cropped and adjusted with Lightroom and Photoshop after stacking images.
The original I sent of the rose pedal was just one of the 5 images

I guess this is flower month! Love this image. The only thing is might suggest would be putting a texture on it or putting on a background or both. The gray in the background bothers me. Good job!   Posted: 05/08/2020 21:07:27

Thank you Lane, but I am not sure about what you mean by putting a texture on it. I understand the background suggestion though and will try it.   Posted: 05/09/2020 10:15:06

I noticed the newer Lightroom offers texture as does my Luminar. My lightroom 4.4 does not. Not sure of the differences specifically with Clarity.   Posted: 05/18/2020 17:30:40

Yes, I concur - flower month. I am intrigued by the focus stacking. I really must try this! I think this image is beautiful and compelling. The colors are soft and the the focus is sharp left to right and top to bottom.   Posted: 05/08/2020 23:10:01

Beautiful Rose. I agree with Lane. I put a texture over the top of this image. I think it adds some richness to the rose.   Posted: 05/09/2020 11:29:15

Interesting. Not sure How you did it. Not sure what I think. Cannot see the spiky stem as well. Thanks.   Posted: 05/09/2020 11:32:06

Great perspective on a beautiful rose. I think shooting from the back of the flower towards the front produced a super image for you. I especially like the solid red bands on the petal edges at the top right. They give the petals depth and thickness. I don't think it would hurt to show even a bit more of them. Your lighting is very good showing all that detail in the flower. My only suggestion would be to lighten the burn on the corners just a bit, especially lower left and upper right.   Posted: 05/10/2020 09:59:01

Your lighting and stacking really help to show the details the the petal. I like the colours on the image you submitted and I'm not to worried about the grey background as I think any other colour could compete with the rose.   Posted: 05/21/2020 08:08:02
