Light and Shadow by Mark McKinney

January 2020 - Light and Shadow

About the Image(s)

Nothing special here. Just light and shadow. A window. Taken October 2019 in Killarney Ireland.
ISO 800, f. 8, 1/100th second. Pentax K-3, Pentax 50 mm. lens. I thought it was better as a B&W.

Nothing special you say, yet the tones work well to draw your eye into the window, then there are the different textures all working together and, finally, the patterns of the window framing the wonderful patterns outside.   Posted: 01/28/2020 16:20:24

It does evoke a feeling of being closed in and being trapped. Like the lines and the textures. Very nice light. It would be a great window for a split lighting portrait.   Posted: 01/28/2020 17:17:15

I missed this one. Interesting lines and textures.   Posted: 01/28/2020 17:35:10

Black and white was a good choice to simplify. Perhaps a tiny bit of burning to introduce some more contrast and bring out the texture.   Posted: 01/28/2020 22:47:59
