About the Image(s)

I recently visited Thailand, and found some wild monkeys living beside a river in a local village. They were incredibly social and at times a bit aggressive, but were fascinating to watch. Stupidly I’ve left my camera at home today, so can’t give the settings I used. Wishing you all a happy November

Great catch! I feel like it would give the image more impact with cropping just head and shoulder.   Posted: 11/07/2019 11:42:27

It is a very good crop. This little guy is doing something or going somewhere. The crop suggested by Linda takes all that part of the story away. Great detail. Very nice depth of field.   Posted: 11/14/2019 14:36:36
Thanks Mark. I think I like the original crop as well. This was just before he jumped on my car and tried to steal my drink bottle.   Posted: 11/14/2019 14:43:22

I also like the full view. The action and movement are excellent in the shot. The all important eyes look just right. I have been shooting animals in North Carolina in the last week and Monkeys in the past. Monkeys especially seem to move unexpectedly. I have never been able to catch them in focus when they are moving like this. Great catch   Posted: 11/19/2019 14:55:27

There is an animal park in the UK where those in the know park outside the monkey enclosure and watch. I've never seen cars stripped of parts so quickly!
As Linda commented, this is a really good image, sharp, well composed with the background out-of-focus.   Posted: 11/20/2019 16:41:26
