About the Image(s)

This was taken a few feet from the entrance to our apartment. This has been the worst year for 50 years for humidity and it's the first time we have seen fungi like this. It was all gone the next day.
iPhone 6S fixed lens at 4.15 and f2.2. Iso 40 and 1/30. I turned the phone upside down to be able to place the lens as close to the ground as possible. Processed in LR on the iPhone and finished on the computer using LR Classic. I use the Texture slider more than the Clarity slider now. The Clarity slider affects the tones too much as it works on the midtone contrast, whilst Texture seems to add detail without affecting the tones.

This is an attractive image and the mushrooms form their own leading line. I like the color and the angle. The depth of field is useful.   Posted: 08/09/2019 12:01:10

Very nice. Clustering and DOF seem just right and leading line also.   Posted: 08/15/2019 18:46:50

They are so fun! Good for you for slowing down and making them shine. I agree, I like the texture slider. Perhaps, a tighter crop would make these little guys pop. The the stuff in the upper left doesn't add anything and I would bring down the bright spot in the middle rear, down. Cropping in from the right and concentrating on the circle in the middle might be an optional. I would play around with different crop options.   Posted: 08/15/2019 21:17:32

I love mushrooms. In South Louisiana, we get them all the time. I feel the same as Lane on cropping a few mushrooms. I feel like they make a better showing.   Posted: 08/16/2019 12:56:27

Many thanks and I really like the suggestions, especially the black and white version. One of the problems we have in Lima is that they insist on sweeping the grass! This means that overnight fungi are removed before most people are awake and, being city dwellers, that have a total distrust of most of nature, unless it is a flower or a tree.   Posted: 08/30/2019 10:24:38

I made a color image and a Black and White to show what I am talking about.   Posted: 08/16/2019 12:57:48

Very cute fungi. I find the 2 blurry mushrooms in the foreground a little distracting. I do like Linda's black and white crop.   Posted: 08/29/2019 21:36:46
