About the Image(s)

We spent New Year at the beach about 100 kms south of Lima. This year there was a very large flock of plovers. There were very aware of humans and always move out of the way and created a circle of birds around anyone walking too close to them. This was taken using the 250mm end of the lens (equates to 400mm on a full frame camera).
EOS M3, EFS 55-250 at 250mm, ISO100, f9, 1/400. Processed in LR to remove the heads intruding from each side and to brighten the image.
The latin name is Pluvialis squatarda.

In my opinion this is a 9, flawless. I like the reflection of the birds in the water. To my eyes I like how the center is clear which draws me in and then around to the rest of the birds that are a blur. I believe this would be a hard image to produce with so many birds active. I think this is a strong image with the birds in a repetitive manner.

What time of day was this taken?   Posted: 01/03/2019 17:49:06

Many thanks and this would have been late afternoon.   Posted: 01/26/2019 12:27:26

I find this is the hardest image to take. You did an excellent job on capturing the birds and their reflections. Great pattern image. This image gives me a great feeling of togetherness and beauty.   Posted: 01/04/2019 11:15:53

I agree with Connie in Linda. This is a fabulous image. I love the reflections, the colours, and the light. Simply gorgeous!   Posted: 01/07/2019 13:48:50

I will go along with all the above from Connie,Linda and Toni. I love this image and wouldn't change a thing. Good job! ( I think it would make a lovely silk scarf.)   Posted: 01/07/2019 17:20:00

I love the idea of the scarf!   Posted: 01/26/2019 12:28:08

good composition and a busy/active image. Good reflections. There are actually multiple leading lines!   Posted: 01/21/2019 16:43:08
