Granny's Jars by Holly Moore, PPSA

April 2021 - Granny's Jars

About the Image(s)

This photo was taken several years or so ago in a flea market. I really liked the colors and the subtle detail in the glass. It was taken with a Digital Rebel XTi. The ISO was 600. F/8 and exposure was 1/60.

Holly, Love the colors in this photograph. The details on the bottles make me go back and forth between the bottles. I really want to see the entire bottle on the left. Love it!   Posted: 04/09/2021 13:46:42

Hi Holly, the image is great, I like the colors, plus the distortion of the jars, make the image standout. Good job.   Posted: 04/10/2021 11:02:04

I love the clarity and the colors. I would have liked to see more of the bottles in the back and the names on the bottles. I felt that the bottle to the very front should not have been cut off. Good job though with your clarity and colors.   Posted: 04/10/2021 14:23:42

Good job overall. I would have preferred all the bottles facing forward.   Posted: 04/10/2021 15:36:33

Job well done. I would probably have made the same comments re placement and readability of the jars. Color palette is excellent.   Posted: 04/11/2021 11:19:56

This is a fascinating photograph that makes me want to learn the relationships between Mason, Atlas, Ball, and Kerr products. I see ATLAS and MASON embossed on one jar and BALL and MASON embossed on another jar. It looks like Kerr is embossed on another jar. The photograph is very good as it is and would probably look great printed, framed, and hung in a kitchen.   Posted: 04/11/2021 20:40:26
