About the Image(s)

This image was taken in 2013 .when the replicare of the El Galeon came into Fort Lauderdale. It was on display for about a week. People were all over this small sailing ship and it was difficult to take an image, because someone always walked in front of you. What I did, the Captain was on shore in front of the ship. I first took a picture of the Captain, then on the ship , I had a chance to take some pictures of the rigging. I proceed, the image of the captain in Photoshop and. Topaz . I took the picture of the rigging in Photoshop and Topaz. I saved the image in my Texture file. I then put the image of the Captain in Topaz Mask AI, removing everything but the Captain, I then processed the image and added the rigging from my Texture file for a background of the Captain. The last picture is a picture of the ship.
My camera was the Canon T1i ; f/7.1 ; 1/80 sec. ; ISO 100 at 24mm

I like the Captain. The rigging in the background is nicely blurred and really adds to the story. The photograph wouldn't be the same without it. I think the end result was definitely worth the effort.   Posted: 06/04/2020 22:55:57

Nice job processing Stuart and I agree with Holly- the rigging in the background improves the image with more realism than what appeared as a street shot   Posted: 06/14/2020 00:05:49

I like the bright color and the blurred background. It is an evocative image because it has context .   Posted: 06/14/2020 12:22:20
