Very nice colorful shot, and perfect for a macro lens, as everything is in a thin plane.
How did you handle illumination without blocking the light with your self, camera, and lens?   Posted: 11/09/2019 22:11:11

Hello Stephen, thank you. All I did was a bit of sidelight with a very small handheld flashlight.   Posted: 11/09/2019 22:34:44

The focus looks to be top center. Most macro lenses are sharp closed down more. I would try reshooting it at F18 and focusing closer to the bottom.   Posted: 11/13/2019 23:17:19

Thanks Michael -- I will definitely try it again!   Posted: 11/13/2019 23:22:24

Hi Lynne,
A very nice macro shot. The colors pops out from the wood around it.   Posted: 11/14/2019 13:19:22

Interesting like a kaleidoscope. And the centre pieces (yellow/red) should be the sharper focal points. Perhaps it was in a rather dark area, and not enough lighting and that's why you shot at 7.1? Otherwise, macro is best shot at minimally F16.   Posted: 11/15/2019 20:01:33
