March 2019 - At Scottish Festival

About the Image(s)

This past weekend we attended the Scottish Festival and Highland Games at Plantation,Florida. The had Bagepipe and Drum groups, Scotch dancing and demonstrations of sheet hearding by dogs. After spending a few hours in the hot sun (89 degrees) we desided to grab lunch from of the the food trucks and head home. This gentelman was part of the group.
The picture was taken with my Panasonic FZ200. at f/2.8; 1/800sec.; ISO 100 at 202mm. This camer also has a "burst" feature than allows me to tak up tp 12 shots at a time. I ended up taking up more than 500 images. from the batch I kept it down to around 45 pictures.

Very, very nice portrait, Stuart. Perhaps darkening the background would make his face full of character stand out even more. Glad this was one of your 'keepers' from the day.   Posted: 03/06/2019 11:46:31

I would tone down the hot spots on his face. I know that people are usually shot wide open but his face has character that really is the subject in my opinion. I would have closed down the lens. You did get pretty good depth probably because of a cropped sensor.   Posted: 03/14/2019 08:48:59

Thanks for your comments. This was taken with my Lumix FZ200. I just picked up this camera about a month ago and i'm playing around with it. It has a burst feature and I can shoot 12 or more images at a time. This is great as you can pick the image from a group that you wont.   Posted: 03/14/2019 09:12:19
