About the Image(s)

Last month I came across some images where the artist used pixel stretching which looked like fun. I looked for a tutorial and I came across Joe Cavazos (joecavazos.com) and followed one of his tutorials. This is really fun and addictive and it kept me occupied for a couple of days. I had to sift through photos I already had. It would be better to set up shooting with pixel stretching in mind in order to keep the colors lined up.

what a fun image! I would watch the mask on the skater, you can see some areas on his left hand and on the skateboard wheels that are rough. It would also help the image if there were a shadow under the skateboard. Love the motion and the colors!   Posted: 11/10/2020 01:31:09

What a great concept! I think this is a good start and could use a bit of refinement to take it to the next level.
The selection needs work as Lisa said to clean it up. The lighting could be more uniform and I think you can do more to connect the stretched pixels with the skater too!
Any of these things will really take it into a more dynamic composition to me.   Posted: 11/14/2020 18:14:08

Maryellen, I played a bit with it and this is another idea for you to think about... as always, it's your creative effort so just an option.   Posted: 11/16/2020 17:08:47

Maryellen, Other than the minor issues with the selection noted above this comes together nicely. There is a wonderful movement and balance to this image. I like the framing elements as they add punch to this already compelling image.   Posted: 11/16/2020 17:16:17

amazing, Maryellen, truly amazing! How you can start out with your original and end up with skater is truly magic. There is so much energy and action flowing out of this image. The figure coming out of the image, the perfect curve of the sheet and the background lines all work together. A 10 star image!

Now, having read the comments of Lisa and Kathy, I can see these minor points which I didn't note before. But I think this is magnificent.   Posted: 11/16/2020 18:10:19

Extremely creative and well executed. And in my favorite colors as well.   Posted: 11/18/2020 15:37:16
