About the Image(s)

The basketball photo was taken on 02-22-2017 with my new Nikon D500 and 70-200 f4.0 lens during a club outing to the Thunder Blue game. I cropped to the main story the battle for the ball. Since I wanted to be more creative, I selected the players and ball and changed the background to beige. But I still wanted to add more impact so I tried using the splash brushes to create different colored splashes on a duplicate layer background. I placed the red splash slightly behind the head of the main player in the image. What do you think ?

Great composition and action. Love the background. The splashes reflect the action. Clever work. Only problem for me is the noise on the figures, particularly when the background is so clear   Posted: 07/11/2017 19:42:38

Love your creativeness Carol! And how you did the Splashes. Was that in Photoshop? Everything looks great but I do agree with Natalie about the noise on the figures and thinking you perhaps could tone that done and things would blend perfectly. Great job!

Really well done! Excellent action, expression and impact. The selection/extract is very good and the background colors compliment the subject. Love the splashes!   Posted: 07/20/2017 12:29:50

wow, clever use of a color layer! I love the colors and selection and how you created such wonderful artwork from a PJ type sports capture. His expression really makes the action drops work too.

Personally, the red keystroke draws my eyes away from the fabulous expression and the creative artwork

nitpicky, but there are two white dots in his head, see capture. The image is just too good to let them remain

There is also a bit of grain, p[erhaps Topax Denoise?
