About the Image(s)

I mage originally shot the original image in 2007 on a Riverboat trip in Europe. Camera was a Minolta Dimage 7. I got up early in this foggy morning while the boat was docked for over night. The color image was not the original but a cleanup version and added the lens flare on the church. I really like the monochromatic version much better. Your comments would be appreciated. Jerry

This is a strong and artistic image with good interest. I prefer the color version as the buildings stand out far more. The reflection in the color version is also much stronger. The fog and star on the steeple are added bonuses. A couple things I might suggest, 1) crop top or bottom to move off center and 2) remove the construction crane, it doesn't fit with the subject. Still a strong image with a great feel and interest.   Posted: 01/05/2021 14:24:37

This is a very nice scene, the mood is there and the bridge and building makes for an atmospheric image. I do agree that it needs a crop and the colour images allows the buildings to stand out more. I am not a fan of the lens flare, does not look right for the image. I can see why you prefer the mono version with the tint, it does have the mood.   Posted: 01/11/2021 02:45:03

Thanks Paul. I have been playing around with the lens flare? I was trying to create a mood to give more of a story look.   Posted: 01/13/2021 16:30:54

I agree with the suggestion to crop the top or bottom and I would crop some of the bridge to put more emphasis on the buildings. I think the removal of the lens flare improves the image greatly. Overall, it is a beautiful moody image with great emotional impact.   Posted: 01/16/2021 10:21:28

I think I like the flare, it brings the eye right to the buildings after following the bridge in.   Posted: 01/17/2021 09:12:16

I prefer the color version for the different tones. It looks like a paint.
The flare immediately draws the attention and i like that, but i personally think it is not natural. Il is a little too much. I would also cropped a little, but only on the top. At my opinion the suggestion of Paul is "too" panoramic.
There is a "stain" on the left side, between the bridge and its shadow. More visible on the color version.   Posted: 01/21/2021 06:34:37
