About the Image(s)

An old negative from the 1980s. I never could get the print how I felt about the negative in the darkroom. Now using Snapseed and other iPad apps, I finally got the image the way I had originally envisioned.

High impact and interest. Great detail and I like how the main leaf stands out the from the others. The pattern of the leaves is great. The bottom, left portion, pulls my eye, maybe too much contrast, also the piece of leaf top left is very bright and tends to distract some. Still, a very strong image.   Posted: 03/01/2019 15:06:28

Thanks Dave. I used Snapseed and toned down and burned in those spots.   Posted: 03/06/2019 15:09:48

Dear Jerry. Good one. I agree to Dave's suggestion and your WS image answers that convincingly. However a few more mm on the left (my left where the stark streams through is required as it tense in that area. Other than that I wouldnt require any changes. Good light to you Jerry.   Posted: 03/16/2019 11:55:17

After having read the comments of Davis, I agree with him and with the attraction of that.
However I like the image, and specially for the curvature of the main leaf. It is very soft and guide the sight to center.
No problem for me for the space on the left as the tail of the leaf is thin and it is in good balance with the space on the right.   Posted: 03/17/2019 18:22:47

I think you have composed a beautifully flowing leaf image that works and has a nice balance of shades. I happen to disagree about the bright areas, I think the one top center and the base of the stem work well together as a balancing in the image. The bright area that does spoil it is the burn out spot between these on the tip of the leaf and could be cloned/toned from the centre.
Lovely image though.   Posted: 03/20/2019 07:31:28
